A new Volar comp for charity

Posted in Labels on October 2, 2020

Out today, Volar Records has shared a 20-song compilation that raises funds for Trans BIPOC Housing Assistance. Titled Presence Not Ansence, the compilation includes both previously released and brand new songs from artists such as Blue Zero, Uno Lady, No No Baby, The Passengers, and more. Check the full list after the hump.

Speaking of the project, the label says:

Back in June, after participating in a couple of protests, I was inspired by a couple of other benefit compilations to put together one of my own. Under Trump's administration, fair housing has been denied for the trans community in this country, and now the administration is looking to deny this community access to homeless shelters. This is another in a long list of hateful, vile actions by this administration, and Presence Not Absence: A Benefit Compilation for Trans BIPOC Housing Assistance, is an effort on the part of Volar Records and the artists involved in the compilation to help raise financial assistance and awareness of the specific needs of the Trans BIPOC that are all too often denied.

...

All proceeds of the compilation will be donated between SDBLACKQUEERHOUSING, House of Resilience, and APAIT's Casa de Zulma. This list may grow. Find the tracklist below, cassettes should be available in November.

Volar also recently released a new EP by The Keepers.
