At The Drive-In to reform?

Posted in Breaking News on January 9, 2012

El Paso, Texas post-hardcore heroes At The Drive-In have posted a cryptic tweet on their barely-used Twitter profile. The message reads as follows:

¡ ATTENTION ! To whom it may concern: AT THE DRIVE-IN will be breaking their 11 year silence THIS STATION IS …NOW…OPERATIONAL

The influential group infamously split in 2001, with vocalist Cedrid Bixler and guitarist Omar Rodriguez moving on to form the Mars Volta. The remaining members went on to form Sparta, whose last release was in 2006, and who went on official hiatus in 2008. The Mars Volta's last release was 2009's Octahedron.

Speculation is rife as to what the vague message could actually mean, but with the band members apparently burying the hatchet in the past few years, it seems credible that a full-fledged reunion is on the cards. We don't know about you, but SPB is already sniffing out pre-sale show tickets.
