Goes Cube Offer Update

Posted in Bands on June 7, 2010

Goes Cube have some ambitious plans for the coming months, including a new EP and a new full-length effort. The group offered the following statement on their plans:

“2010 has already been a hell of a year for us. We went on an amazing national tour with East of the Wall. We recorded our next full length record with producer Dean Baltulonis, which will be released late this year/early next year on The End Records. We just got done with an EP with producer Andrew Schneider, which will be released alongside other other great bands’ EPs this fall on a new boutique label.

As individuals, it’s a major year for us, as well. This summer, Matt Tyson (bass) and his wife will welcome twins into the world. Meanwhile, David and his wife are moving out of New York City to an undisclosed location (even to them) somewhere out west.

Obviously, with such big plans (the next full length, the EP), this is not the end of Goes Cube. No way. However, we will be taking a break from playing live so that Matt and his lovely wife can enjoy the birth (and then all the great and fun things that happen after that) of their new twins.

The soonest we will be conceivably playing again in NYC would be this fall (we’ve already been invited to play CMJ). However, depending on how things go, it may be longer than that. And consider this: the next time we DO play NYC, it will be as a touring band. After all, it’s not worth David coming all the way back to NYC for one show.

So, it stands to reason we’d put together a really fun show to celebrate. We think we’ve done just that with our show at The Bell House on June 11th. Joining us on the bill will be two bands who have become incredibly close friends of ours, influences on our music, and who we’ve shared the road with: THE GIRAFFES and EAST OF THE WALL.

We ask everyone who’s ever seen us before, or who’s ever even entertained the idea of seeing, us to come out and see this show, which you could say is Goes Cube’s last local New York show. As many of you know, both East of the Wall and The Giraffes are absurdly good bands, and they are not to be missed. The Bell House is a big room, and we are hoping to fill it with as many people as possible who are eager to hear really good, really heavy, and really loud music, and who are in the mood to celebrate with us.

Thanks for all your support. Hopefully, we’ll see you at the show!”
