Merge Signs Conor Oberst

Merge Records has signed Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst to their roster for the release of his first solo recording since 1996.  Oberst will be backed by The Mystic Valley Band on the recording and release a self-titled release on August 4th. Also of not, the record marks the first non Saddle Creek Records release for Oberst in the U.S.  The tracklisting for the album is as follows:
