My Bloody Valentine Return Confirmed

Posted in Breaking News on November 7, 2007

Earlier this year we reported a story about the possible return of My Bloody Valentine. Well, the same source that broke that story has confirmed that Kevin Shields and My Bloody Valentine are back together.  Shields was recently interviewed by Ian Svenonious for his "Soft Focus" show on VBS.TV.  During the interview, Shields confirms that My Blood Valentine are in fact back together and working on releasing a new album, which is comprised of material from around the time of the band's 1995 breakup as well as new material.  According the interview, the new album is due out this year, though the label and form (digital, label released, Radiohead-inspired) has not been determined. Finally, Shields does not discuss the band's possible live re-emergence at Coachella Festival, but the band's manager did confirm that the two are still in touch over the idea. The entire Shields interview by Svenonious will be posted live on Monday November 12th, so mark your calendars. Source: The Daily Swarm
