In December of 2013, it was announced that San Francisco garage rock titans Thee Oh Sees would be taking a hiatus. Since 2010, the group had released five proper full-length albums as well as three singles collections and a host of EPs and 7-inches. Around that time, it was also revealed that frontman John Dwyer would be releasing a solo album under the name Damaged Bug. The announcement promised that the band was not finished and that a new album was in the works. Now, news arrives that the new album is in fact finished and will be arriving on April 19, Record Store Day.
The new long-player will be titled Drop and will be released via Dwyer’s Castle Face label.
According to a press release, Drop will feature contributions from Mikal Cronin, Greer McGettrick, and Casafis.
