New Strategies

Posted in Bands on March 16, 2024

Formed during pandemic lockdown and debuting in 2022, Strategies features Brian Moss (The Ghost, Great Apes, Hanalei), Neil Hennessy (The Lawrence Arms), and Paul Lask (The Ghost), releasing an EP back in '22.

Now the indie-leaning band is back, sharing a new single called "Morning Shore."

Paul Lask explains:

There is a theme of emptiness. When we hear emptiness, we often think something negative, but I am interested in the concept as a kind of awareness, peace, or state of mind otherwise undistracted. So, "Where did empty, sneak off to again?" refers to how our attention is robbed all the time these days. "So much plenty" gets at how we have too much stuff, information, and other distractions removing us from our natural state of awareness, or emptiness.

The single is on streaming platforms now.
