The Onion AV Club is reporting that Dean Ween (Mickey Melchiondo) has started work on a solo record to be recorded by Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age). Ween parted ways earlier this year following the release of Aaron Freeman's (Gene Ween) solo debut Marvelous Clouds. The record will include Guy Heller, Claude Coleman, Scott Metzger, Nick Oliveri, Glen McClelland, and others with a goal of releasing in January. No title or name has been formally announced.

Light Years, who released the Just Between Us EP earlier this year, have entered the studio with Will Yip (The Wonder Years, Title Fight, None More Black, Circa Survivie) to record a new full-length. The currently untitled album is set for a spring release on Escapist Records. Read more
