Strung Out has announced a surprise acoustic EP in the works to be titled Black Out the Sky.

Scheduled for release on May 11 on the band's longtime label Fat Wreck Chords, the new EP will feature the band unplugged, with six new songs and two new takes on older material--“Matchbook” (Twisted by Design, 1998) and “Unkoil” (An American Paradox, 2002)

“I believe this band is capable of so much and it’s pretty evident on this release. To me, punk is about defying expectations. Everything around us is screaming for attention or trying to sell us something by bombarding our senses. What better way to answer back than with a whisper. That’s punk," vocalist Jason Cruz says of the new release.

The band will be touring with Pennywise later this month.
