In march this year, The Kinks released The Journey - Part 1, celebrating 60 years of the band. Now Part 2 has been announced, another anthology collection comprised of 2CD, 2LP, and digital formats, available Nov. 17 (BMG).
Compiled by the band, this collection features track-by-track notes from original members Ray Davies, Dave Davies and Mick Avory, and more. Plus singles, B-sides, album tracks and six new Ray Davies mixes, including previously unreleased live performances from 1975.
"I thought I knew everything about my songs until I was given the opportunity to put this record together. The new sequencing has enabled us to show the ‘big picture’ and give a more insightful back story about how our music evolved. I learned a lot about myself in putting this together," Ray Davies offers in a press release.
The Kinks initially formed in 1963 in Muswell Hill, North London.
