In two weeks time we’ll get a grand new EP from Santa Rosa, CA-based Decent Criminal. With four new songs steeped in a familiar yet new blend of punk, alt rock, and surf-pop to come, we’re sharing a first look and listen to the song/video “Reap” today.

“Reap” is the second of the four new songs, with bright and sunny Cali guitars that complement its clean melody with some subtle underlying tonal changes as we all get ready for springtime.

Simply titled DC EP, the band entered the studio with general concepts but nothing fully formed.

“We experimented a bit with these songs, did a couple kick flips, ran tracks through some sauce, and messed around with different tones. At this point with Scott, we trust him and know we can just mess around and have fun with tunes. So, a lot of this session was just that,” drummer Hunter Martinez says of laying down the new material.

DC EP releases on March 5 and is available for preorder now, via Sell the Heart Records (USA), Gunner Records (Europe) or bandcamp.

Track listing:

1.) Drifter

2.) Reap

3.) Bizarre

4.) Bizarre (Acoustic)
