Fureigh (Middle-Aged Queers)

SPB: What is a “greatest hit” that you wanted to include in the live set or album but the rest of the band shot down?

Fureigh: We’ve received requests for “Pump Up the Jam” [by Technotronic], but the world’ll just have to wait.

And “Keep On Livin”’ [by Le Tigre] feels really important right now, but we haven’t performed it live yet. Maybe someday! In the meantime, keep on livin’, y'all -- seriously.

Theatre of Shame
Engineer Records, Sell The Heart Records (2025)

Theatre Of Shame is the third LP from Bay Area band Middle-Aged Queers, a band whose moniker definitely gives away the plot. The band celebrates community with party punk songs like "Glizzies Banging" and "Pajama Party," but it also has pointed political commentary about the dangers of a bigoted society. In equal parts, Theatre Of Shame is about celebration and … Read more
