JD Pinkus banjo punk

JD Pinkus, formerly of Butthole Surfers, has announced his second solo album will release next month. To be titled Fungus Shui, the record is available on August 21 via Shimmy Disc. He shared lead single, "Gittin' It," this week with a new video (below).

The record is primarily stripped down, old timey-influenced music: bluegrass run through Pinkus' filter with a punk sensibility.

Pinkus has played with Butthole Surfers, Daddy Longhead, Pure Luck, the Melvins, and more. He previously released the solo Keep on the Grass in 2018.
