Stand Still, "Steps Ascending"

Posted in Bands on February 21, 2024

After spending much of 2023 working on new material, Long Island, NY melodic punk band Stand Still has shared the first fruits of those labors, a new single courtesy of DAZE called "Steps Ascending."

Vocalist Gerry Windus gives the song some added explanation:

These lyrics are inspired by Catholic guilt and the anxiety that can arise from questions left unanswered. Growing up in a religious household often leads to feeling as if everything is supposed to hold a deeper meaning, this track attempts to describe those feelings in the catchiest way possible.

The band last released In A Moment's Notice EP in 2021. They play with Family Dinner this weekend, then head on an East Coast tour in March with House and Home and Spite House on select dates.
