SPB premiere: "Would Be Remiss" by Riot For Romance

Posted in Videos on May 5, 2022

Happy Thursday. We're kicking things off today with a brand new lyric video from Riot For Romance, "Would Be Remiss".

"Would Be Remiss" comes from the group's self-titled EP, which released Feb. 11 via Friend Club Records and Steadfast Records. It also appears on the 25th anniversary compilation released by Steadfast Records recently (which also features Unwed Sailor, Subsist, Zao, and more).

While the band itself is relatively new, members have spent countless hours in vans, traveling the countryside and playing in DIY venues throughout the 2000s in bands including Sleeping by the Riverside, the Sincerity Guild, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Underoath, and Never Enough.

A true collective, each of the three members shares songwriting credits [Jason Hansen (vocals, guitars, keys), Brett Miotti (bass), and Kelly Nunn (drums/guitars)].

Jason Hansen adds:

Social media has been shaping how people interact with each other for some time now. It's never been more divisive than when the pandemic started, and we all had too much time on our hands. I began to just watch people engage on social media and the psychology of it all intrigued me. "Would Be Remiss" is a reflection of how opinionated, enflamed, and oftentimes, fake we seem to be in this digital age.
