Owen has kept busy this year despite the quarantine. The solo effort of Mike Kinsella, of American Football and Cap’n Jazz fame, Owen released his heartbreaking tenth album The Avalanche in July, one that “takes on a new refinement, with spacious musical landscapes making room for devastating lyrics that return to themes of an unravelling marriage and big endings.”
He recently released his first set of videos from “The Avalanche Live” series, shot/filmed with the help of director Craig Shimala at various unique and famous locations in his home city of Chicago. Six videos include “Dead For Days” filmed in front of the iconic Wrigley Building, “A New Muse” performed from the harrowing heights of the Chicago Skydeck, and a gorgeous version of “Mom and Dead” performed in the empty venue Rainbo Club. Additional sets of videos from the series will be released on November 17th and 24th.
