Stealing their description, Boston based "heavy-emo/soft-punk"  band Unseemlier have a new album on the way: I Have A Screw Loose, Somewhere, out on June 13 on Sell The Heart Records. The band released an EP last yeazr, The Truth Is We Out Here.

It was recorded at God City Studios in Massachusetts with 100 mystery color 12"s pressed by Sell The Heart.

"I 'Wrote Power Chord Career Criminal' about leaning into the simpler side of things to make yourself feel joy. It can be hard to break down why you are feeling burnt out or depressed but retail therapy or a drastic change in your appearance are almost never the answer. It took me a long time to figure out that I need to slow the fuck down when I am not feeling up for something, and sometimes forcing yourself through it can just make it all worse. Take stock in the simple things that bring you joy and do those, or do nothing at all and stare at a wall, just don’t push yourself too hard," vocalist/guitarist Mike Assatly says of the first single, below.

It's heavy, but more with hardcore-like vocals shouted over moving, building guitars and … Read more

It was about a year ago I discovered Unseemlier, shortly before the release of I Have A Screw Loose, Somewhere. It's a wordy title and a somewhat unwieldy band name -- and I’ll use that “a lot going on in a little space” metaphor even further to talk about the … Read more
