Kristof Hahn to release on Room40

Posted in Records on September 2, 2021

German guitarist and composter Kristof Hahn has announced a solo record to come out Nov. 5 on Room40. The record collects found elements, loops and more, which were largely collected as Hahn toured as a member of the final Swans reformation lineup, playing steel guitar with that group.

The album is to be called Six Pieces and a single called "Cape Horn" is available now.

"Cape Horn" uses archival loops and singular elements created in the moment that build into a mix of sounds. Overall the album utilizes a variety of sounds from 10-string lap-steel, 8-string lap-steel, 7-string hybrid lap-steel, electric guitar, eBow, simple loop pedal, slightly more advanced loop pedal, delay pedal, tremolo pedal, volume pedals, and guitar amplifiers.
