The 1984 Draft has scheduled a big release show for Jan. 20, 2023 to celebrate the release of their second LP, Best Friends Forever (Poptek Records, Sell The Heart Records and, in the UK, Engineer Records).

Taking place at Yellow Cab Tavern in Dayton, OH, the lineup is a co-headlining show with Josh Caterer (Smoking Popes), plus many more well known musicians: Josh Arnold, Abiyah, Shane Sweeney (of Two Cow Garage), Narrow/Arrow, Paige Beller, and Josh Goldman (The Dopamines, The Raging Nathans).

"I remember the day my brother brought home a tape with Smoking Popes on it. I listened over and over again. I loved the music. I loved Josh's voice. I loved how the chords were used. I was a fan from moment one and close to 30 years later, here we are bringing him to Dayton to share in celebrating our new record," Joe Anderl of 1984 Draft says.

Speaking of playing shows with heroes, Anderl wrote a guest column for SPB about a similar experience where The 1984 shared a stage with The Wrens.

Christine Atturio (Little Low) SPB: What is your favorite Disney soundtrack? Atturio: Aladdin, hands down. Robin Williams singing "Friend Like Me" is fire!
