At 3pm EST on Dec. 31, 2020, the Melvins will host a 5-song livestream event dubbed “Melvins TV: Volume 1.” A $5 ticket gains access, with various merch bundles available as well.
The short set will be complemented with interviews and additional footage.
“’Melvins TV, New Year’s Evil’ is as close to a live show as we can get during this hideous pandemic,” Buzz Osborne says, introducing what they expect to be an ongoing series. “We’ll be doing more of these so tune in and enjoy! Happy New Year!”
The lineup for this performance will be the band’s core of Osborne, Dale Crover, and Steven McDonald. On Feb. 26 the ban will release a new album, Working With God, which features their 1983 lineup of Osborne, Crover, and original drummer Mike Dillard. Crover, meanwhile, has a new solo record out next month: Rat-A-Tat-Tat!, on Jan. 15.
